BEFORE ME A CHOICE

I'm standing here in this desert Plain,
Sitting on a road which leads two ways.
One direction a Wall that I must stay forever behind,
Other direction a Road that leads ever on.
My destiny lies in this desert Plain.

I watch you through that Wall
You're clawing and screaming,
tears pouring down your face
I reach shaking hands toward that Wall.

The choice I've been given is This:
I must leave for you to live long in love
Or I must stay and I shortly die with your love
The Road I've created leads only to This.

I'm watching you with sadness shivering through All
Drawn yet repulsed by my love for your life
You're crying with my twisted pain
Even though I can't feel anything at All

I'm lingering here on my choice's Gate
I look back at you and see your loneliness
You swipe away the tears, still focused on me
I turn and take in the beauty of choice's Gate.

Undecided, yet I know what I'm supposed to do
It's been a long time, I guess I always knew
So without a single or a second thought
I make my choice and begin to walk.
