The Yard I Once Knew

The yard I once knew
Was the yard with the grasses waving yonder.
The wind breaking the still air
As the running of my feet touch the cool drops
Of the midmorning's dew
On the blades of grass tickling my toes.
I see the millions of trees,
The different kinds of grasses,
and the rocks of the yard I once knew.
The fullness of laughter bellows out in the morning time air,
In the yard I once knew.
And I'll always remember the yard I once knew.
