Pain.

Pain
You think the pain is agonizing,
You think the pain is real,
But what I realize is,
That pain is all you feel.
No sadness;
Nor joy;
No anger;
Nor mirth.
Pain that binds you,
Pain that blinds you,
Pain you’ve felt since birth.
It’s been ages since happy,
Eons since sad;
Eternity since depressed;
Forever since mad.
Your pain isn’t real,
It’s only in your head.
But when you realize that yourself,
It’s a little too late,
As you’re lying on your bed,
Dagger hanging, about to plunge
You think about the life you about to shed,
Swift as that tear running down your head.
Your hands sweat
And the dagger slips
Quickly falling from your fingertips
A stab of pain – this time real
Your life is ending, and that’s all you feel
pain.
