Unique like everyone else.

All I ever hear today,
Is people complaining about the pain.
"Why do these things only happen to me?!"
They don't, they happen to everybody.
But you're just too self-consumed to see.

All I ever see today,
Are real smiles, faking being fake.
Because it's "cool" to be unique.
When everyone looks the same, a freak.
And deep inside, we're dependent & weak.

All I want to know today,
Is why these people act this way?
Is it because being yourself is out?
Plastic surgery, Daisy Dukes & "trout pouts?"
I guess it's just not "in" to shout.

I guess it's just not "in" to protest.
You have to act like all the rest.
"It's only, only for the best."
