Nighttime Delights

Webs of spiders dancing in the wind
The creatures come out to creepily grin
The web is frayed as it sways in the night
And all the beings come out for the nighttime delights.

The points on the branches glitter in the early dew
Only one leaf is left as the panthers coo
The angels are gone in this daunting hour
For the twelve chimes on the clock deem this in the tower.

Standing in the black deserted street
Hearing the witches scream with their fleet
The nightly terrors all oblige
To making music for the sky.

The skeleton’s bones jingle
And the silent whispering of the dead mingles.
The vampires muttering adds as a beat
While the wolves all howl in their defeat.

The moonlight beams shoot down on earth
And the fires for the mortals are out in their hearths.
The stars put on a ghastly show
upon the place where humans go.

The creatures roam to their hearts desire
But their time on earth will soon expire
For when the sun comes up they must go
Until dusk comes again with its foreshadowing glow.
