a day in my life

Out of the darkness, into the light.
Into the cold after being packed so tight.
Onto a rack, but not for too long,
Just until someone new came along.
In an empty room, stretched and pulled,
Ripped right back off and left on the stool.
Someone came in and screamed, “Oh, how cute!”
Put me on and said there was no dispute.
Brought to the counter, put in a bag,
Brought to a new home, thrown on a bed.
That’s where I stayed while she called up her friends.
She laughed and she giggled, then she said goodnight,
Put me on a hanger, then turned off the lights
