An Unexpected Turn of Events

I clearly remember the first time I met him,
It was at Harvey’s fundraising party,
His charm was witty and grim,
His voice was deep and hearty,
He crashed the party unexpectedly,
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen,” he announced,
Everybody was fixed to the floor, enable to flee,
Before things got out of hand, I pronounced,
“Okay, stop,”
He turned around with a swift motion,
Ready to confront the person like a cop,
He seemed to have no emotion,
“Well, hello beautiful,” managed to slip,
He slicked back his green hair,
He licked his bright red lips,
I was locked in his stare,
“Are you nervous,”
“Is it the scars,”
He asked with a hiss,
His attraction was charming yet bizarre,
He grabbed the back of my head,
I was being held to him by his sharp blade,
Was this secret lust I had going to bring me dread?
But for some reason I was everything but afraid,
He told about his beautiful wife,
And why he tore his face to shreds,
He gave his own body for her life,
But he was left alone and dead,
I had no clue what it felt like to feel such away,
But now I did,
To my dismay,
I had someone else to bid,
But I had fallen in love with The Joker,
And there was nothing Harvey could’ve done,
It may sound mediocre,
But deep down, I knew Joker was the one,
Who would’ve known that the Harvey Dent’s girl,
Would’ve ended up with the criminal he tried so hard to put away,
I’ll give Gotham’s Most Wanted a whirl,
And we’ll put our true love on display,
I’m Rachael Dawes,
And I love Mistah J himself,
Despite his flaws,
We are true love in itself.
