Mask

No one hears her
silent cries
They can't hear the screams,
as hard as she tries

No one accepted that
the wild girl was so sad
Not one sign projected the
problems she had

You see her laughing and that
hollow smile
She's still tormented all the while

Its all an act
but you'd never know
She could never let
her feelings show

She comes home from school
and goes to her room.
Thinks about life and
her perpetual gloom

And sits and cries
Late into the night
she falls asleep
still trying to be alright

The next day
pretends again
ignoring what;s happened
and what's already been

Hiding behind
the beautiful mask
she continues the day
finishing her tasks

Same routine,
she comes home and breaks down
spends the rest of the night
wearing a frown

Broken heart
and teary eyes
the rest of her life
until she dies
