Locked Up

I'm that kind of girl who has her highs,
who has her lows,
and has those times of pain in which nobody knows,

I'm that kind of girl who hides her scars,
who erases her past,
and feels like her good times end much too fast,

I'm that kind of girl who fears her home,
who prays for safety,
and cries alone,

But the kind of girl I am hides deep down inside,
leaving behind someone who seems to have no reasons to have cried
Locking her inside has helped me find peace,
but I know it will be short lived,

One day this girl will come out from hiding,
Maybe this girl can change her outcome,
find a true friend,
maybe even have some fun,

On this long anticipated day,
the scars she has will fade away,
the tears she has shed will dry,
she will find the strength she has to not cry

But until then,
her tears and blood will shed again and again,
she lays her head down on the pillow,
and the words 'why me' repeat until there is no tomorrow
