Insanity for Less Than Three

The white walls try to keep her sane,
She wears a hyena's smile like all the rest.
Once lived life on heroine and cocaine,
But now she lives it buckled into a vest.

Tranquillized like an animal three times a day:
Details that pamphlets never mention,
Strapped into a bed is his only way
To alleviate all anxiety and attention.

Screeching, screaming, spewing venom to the ear,
The doctor whistles and hums calmly at this.
Unaffected by the patient he loves to hear,
Soon her white walls fade into black abyss.

Day after day, the needle routine will keep,
He says she looks like an angel when she's asleep.
