Bells

Bells ringing in my head
A newborn sign of happiness red
And white like fresh fallen snow
Hearts cut and bleed and blend

I hold time in my hands
The petals of past made wishes
I smile as I pass the bride her mantle
And wish her every happiness

I call upon the ancient powers
In this strange and frightful hour
And bless both houses with love and trust
Their kiss unites both past and future

In one moment witnessed by none
Save those for which it was begun.
We wave them off in this fading night
And trust that love will guide their flight.
