An Everlasting Rain

The rain outside,
Falls silently,
While inside,
My emotions fight violently.

The fire inside me has been extinguished,
Leaving dark ashes,
And I sit here alone,
As time slowly passes.

Mimicking the rain,
A tear slips down my cheek,
I peer out the window,
At the world, so cold and bleak.

My fingers grow numb,
From the lack of heat,
My heart in pain,
As if it had been beat.

The world around me seems to freeze,
My heart beat is all I can hear,
And in this new stillness,
Everything becomes clear.

I do not want to live like this,
Dealing with so much pain,
If only I could escape,
This everlasting rain.
