Strength

We all want to be strong,
To show we can face the world,
Without being broken.

We act like hardships don’t bother us,
As if they don’t exist,
Showing we can take it.

We put on masks,
Hiding true emotion,
So people won’t judge us.

We judge a person’s actions and appearance,
Even when they are really nice,
So we can fit in.

We keep our secrets hidden,
Fearing that if they were known,
We would be frowned upon.

We stop tears from falling,
Even when we want to cry,
To show we are not weak.

But sometimes,
It takes the most strength,
To let people see the truth.

We can’t stop life,
We can’t halt emotions or tears,
We have to accept them as they come.
