Your Words

Glowing with a soft light,
A thousand starts watch us,
In this peaceful night.

The silence enwraps us in its folds,
Our voices staying mute,
Nothing needing to be told.

The look in your eyes says it all,
My heart melts along with my knees,
And your strong arms catch my fall.

The ink-black sky is open above,
Yet I press closer to you,
The one I love.

I think through the memories we have shared,
Full of such happiness and warmth,
You were always there to say you cared.

Your warm breath sends shivers down my spine,
Your smile spreads across your face,
Those entrancing eyes shine.

Arms slip around my waist,
As mine slip around your neck,
You lips taunt me, wanting me to taste.

Adrenaline pulses through my veins,
I shyly look away,
Nerves tightening around me like chains.

But all unsure feeling slips away,
As ‘I love you’,
Are the words I hear you say.
