Gay Pride

Blood pounding as my prism flies,
Our pride, our joy—our colors in the skies.
Your words are born of fear,
Yet you anger me my dear.
We are who we are,
And we have come so far.
We have fought out way here,
And you won’t shame us for being queer!
We’ll laugh at your scripture,
And quote it back to ensure
Your understanding of us,
Maybe you’ll stop your fuss.
Until then we’ll carry on,
Until your prejudice is gone.
