Broken Souls

As she lays dead in sleep
We laugh and play no cares to keep.
As we realize what is going on.
We shout and cry her spirit gone.
Our tears dry left the broken soul,
Yet always the hope for tomorrow.

A few years later, though no one sees
A borken soul still silently weeps.
New school, no friends, DV shelter -
Will things ever end?
Suicidal thoughts, razorblade cuts,
A broken soul left in a rut.
Three friendly faces showed her a light,
Life does not have to end, you just have to fight.

A black paper rose ends good times,
Of drama, crushes and an everlasting friendship.
Those left behind drift further apart,
Until school decides to play it's part.
Two become close once more,
Developing more than friendship,
But both were to shy to key each other in.
Two broken sould with the hopes of tomorrow.

Fate intervenes, once more she moves away
Without no goodbyes,
Just deceit and lies.
This new school is tough,
Friends are harder to find.
This time would she really have to end her life?
Is it not possible for tomorrow to be better?
Is it not possible to end life's pain?
With the hopes of tomorrow.

Back to her old school, back to the old rules.
No hour for lunch, no people just like you.
Everything has changed, no one stayed the same.
Gone for five months, was it really that long?

Settled back into her old life,
Things finally falling into place.
Once more crushes, secrets,
And fun times at the Masquerade.
Guys acting shady, trying to play games.
With you and your best friend,
Time to put him in his place.

One year left - graduation rolls closer.
It's almost time for everyone to part seperate ways.
Real friends will stay together, fake ones will lose touch.
Until the class reunion comes around,
Where they'll put on a front.
We will sit together knowing that we are all
Broken souls looking for the hopes of tomorrow.
