Trust

In her bed late at night
she thinks and dreams
of someone to take her away.

She thinks of the relationship she has
with the most amazing guy.
She dreams of time
to spend with him.
Wishing he were there
to spend the night,
to hold her
and make her fell safe.

She longs for it
knowing it will never happen.
Just one night, she breathes
Please, just one night
She whispers as a tear fall down her cheek.

Midnight comes
and she still has no one.
She knows he is out,
out for a jog
to clear his head.

She knows he passes her house.
She wants to see him,
to call to him
and ask when he will be near her.

He tells her he can’t see her.
It’s one of the things
she can’t know about.
This frustrates her.
She thinks that
if he truly loves her,
she should know.

He trusts her,
that she knows.
He doesn’t tell her
because he doesn’t want to endanger others.
She understands it,
and accepts it.
Yet, she can’t help but wonder.
