Lakefront Hill

The sun
High above
Warms my skin
With its incandescence

The grass
Far below
Has become prickly
In its photosynthesis

Cool breezes
Roll off the lake
That perfect patch of blue
Underneath the brilliant turquoise of the lake

Kokiri beckons
And I decline
Wanting to savour every second
Of this perfection

I am all alone
Atop this hill
I might have shared it
If it wasn't mine
