Serpentine

The ancient lake glistened In the moonlight,
And the dragonflies hovered around,
Blades of grass blew in the wind
While the fairies danced on the ground.

The dozens of flowers sparkled beautifully,
Trees swayed in the breeze,
Creatures scattered across the bridge,
Always travelling in threes…

For five seconds I can show you this world,
Then transport back to reality,
Please don’t hate me when we leave,
For I don’t want another fatality.

Broken hearts drown in this pool,
Distorted minds fail the vision,
Humans can’t grip the true image,
But for you, is that the decision?

Torn fences are dumped in the beauty,
Ruining the precious figure,
Can’t everything stay in total harmony?
Or is this the way it configures?

These monsters are now closing,
Getting even nearer to their jaws,
I only wish I had more time,
Because all I ever wanted was…
