The Never Dead

You speak-
Beyond the grave you harass me-
Almost as if you embody the wind,
Selfishly possessing me as I breathe you-
My head is light,
Filled with bloody memories, toxic fumes-
Biohazards-

Forever living-
My immortal lover-
I dug for hours to find you;
Now your voice cuts like a scythe-
You scream death at me-
I reach in and feel you cold,
Wondering why you grab me back-

I claw- You claw deeper-
Our fingernails black with dirt, quickly drying blood-
I try to kill you, wound you,
Realizing too late that you’ve always been immune-
Your raspy voice breaks my cries,
Sending fear- My eyes opened wide-
Something I once loved choking me lifeless-
“I can live forever, Love-
Once I see you die!”
