Trigger

Staring down the long barrel,
Nothing ever going my way-
Virtual death at every corner,
Making my life less meaningful with every shot-

Binding my hands at my back,
Preparing to do your most evil trick-
Blinding me with a piece of cloth,
Smelling you as I wait patiently-

You touch your hand to my arm,
Unveiling your betrayal-
You have me in your sights,
I find myself knowing that I’m powerless-

I cannot stop what you’ve started,
A chain reaction into the extreme-
You can’t even look me in the eyes,
The way you’ve taken advantage without remorse-

Seeing the rifle in my head,
Waiting for you to take the final shot-
Finish the job you started so long ago,
I’ve waited so long its painful-

I hear the discharge,
See the bullet in slow motion-
I have no hate,
I feel nothing, no emotion at all-
What you’ve done goes without saying,
You’ve made me Bleed, Die-
Internally I make the exchange,
Living for Nothingness-

The way you kill without physical damage,
Has wasted me regardless-
