Sounds of Silence

Silence speaks silver spikes
That spear not tip.
This silence flows over my body,
Throughout the dense quiet air.
I wish you wouldn’t see my discomfort as
This silence drips from my ears,
Slides down my throat
Meeting the drops that
Cascade from my eyes.
This silence kills
As the noiseless car,
Screams in agony,
In frustration.
This deafening silence created
By these awkward and tense moments
We always seem to share.
