Out of Reach

I watch out the window,
As the snow floats to the ground.
The bus is filled with loud noise,
But I have yet to hear a sound.

All my life I hid,
In the darkest room.
When one day you appeared,
And that light was bight.

Bright enough to blind me,
As the snow did that day.
You look at me with sadness.
What am I to say?

I want to follow your light,
But my legs are to weak.
Will you help me win the fight,
To reach the light I seek?

Your heart tells you to come.
Your mind tells you to leave.
Your body's moving involuntarily,
Far away from me.

How could I be so foolish,
To even spare a glance,
At that shining light.
I didn't stand a chance.
