Once Upon A Story

Our story starts in the heart
Of a girl and a boy oh so young
Now we all know this part
But our tale has just begun

For the longest time she waited
For you to realize
That her view on life was jaded
Until he took her by surprise

Of couse, he didn't know it happened
Because he was unaware
That he was hers, at least she's pretend
And thought he was the answer to her prayers

She'd long for him from afar
To scared to come any nearer
If the door to his classroom was ajar
She would tiptoe just to peer

Everyone found out over time
Everyone I guess but him
But maybe he could read their minds
And fell for her upon a whim

His friends saw him acting strange
And in time got him to confess
That the only reason for his change
Was her
That's how he got into that mess

Trying to forget
Not succeeding when she walked by
Little did he know
Soon he'd be caught in his lie

Rumours began to spread
About their infatuation
They knew they liked each other
He and she became filled with elation

That's when the walls all fell down
He denied everything that was said
She was crushed, hurt, and broken
These were the days that she'd dread

His feelings were still as strong
As they were on the very first day
She knew that he knew they belonged
But wondered what caused him to say

That everyting was untrue
That everything was made up
She didn't know he was scared
His defense mechanism was to blurt out crap

So she tried to get over him
And his feelings he tried to end
Neither succeeded the trial
So they both just turned to denial

Months passed and it stayed the same
She longed to hear him say her name
While they all knew that the two were upset
They all made a bet

To see which one will cave
Which one will tell the other
Of what they truly feel
A week goes by and another

One day he asked her to talk
And the two set out for a walk
She admitted she liked him back then
Doesn't say that those feelings didn't end

He became dazed and confused
And asked if she felt nothing more
His heart felt torn and abused
And her answer tied up the score

Not knowing what to say
He left fast and away
But the moment that he was gone
Her tears fell forever and on

Even more time passes by
It was almost the first of July
Summer had come so soon
It was now the end of June

He left without saying a word
But He knew that everyone heard
The tears that escaped from his eyes
For that girl to whom he never said goodbye

She stayed behind one more year
And wiped away a tear
Knowing that just as the dawn
Her feelings for him will one day be gone

That is where that story ends
And where another begins
Tune in for the sequel my friends
Where one of hurt just might win
