He hears the whispers, he sees the stares
The blade across his wrist takes him away from there.
The laughing and taunting sometimes go too far.
He’s lost in a fog and in one slit it’s gone.

Then she came along and brought him back down.
He promised to stop as long as she was around.
Found a new meaning to live, and started to love,
She said forever, but forever wasn’t long enough.
In a few weeks she was gone, they said she was in a better place.
But his heart was still focused on the girl who saved his life,
And with her gone who could control the knife.

He started back up, but the pain was still so real.
If he could he would drown in his tears.
Hang himself with his hopes and fears.
Cook his heart so the pain would disappear,
Cause it’s torn in half but a girl no longer here.

He walks in school, his eyes on the ground.
Watching his sneakers he doesn’t make a sound.
His nails are painted black, and he has track marks up and down his arms.
But no one knows that he cries himself to sleep in his angels arms.
