The Good Old Days

We walked back from the schoolyard
T'was your hand and mine
Who cared what the other kids thought?
I was funny; you were kind.
Do you remmeber those days?
Where you and I once played games
Where there was no such enimies
When we had fortune and fame?
I remmeber these days fondly
Even if you're out of sight
And I thank God for them
Throughout the dark night
--
We were a group of five
Without a care in the world
Made fun of by the boys
And hated by most girls.
But we had eachother
And that bound would never break
Oh, if only we knew
That that thought was a mistake
For the group has been split
And the lot has lost touch
Our happy thoughts for the future
Have lost all their luck.
I remmeber these days fondly
Even if you're out of sight
And I thank God for them
Throughout the dark night
--
After school for an hour
Every Wenesday throughout
We had all turned into friends
When one was gone, we'd all pout.
Graduation tore us apart
And made some of us turn cold.
But I still chat with a few
I believe you were all so bold.
Fights always occuring
With the small group I've kept close
We'd all been so happy
Ah, happiness is now a ghost
I remmeber these days fondly
Even if you're out of sight
And I thank God for them
Throughout the dark night
--
So many lost friends
So many more I shall make
I've lost some of the greatest
Some that were too fake.
Like blonde girl and her father
Like my once-was best friend
Even if we weren't all that close
Our friendship's reached it's end.
But I pray to God
I'll run into my old gang
The red-head boy, and my twinnie
We'll sing the songs we once sang.
I remmeber these days fondly
Even if you're out of sight
And I thank God for them
Throughout the dark night
