The Story of the Gleaming Emeralds

Perfectly cut emeralds
crevices in the circular stone
they crack like the desert ground
with holes leading to darkness
surrounding the abyss into her mind.
look into them.
you can see every star in the sky,
stains of black in her heart;
bruised and battered.
they've seen more than you know.
perfectly symmetrical,
gleaming with tears
they could shatter.
right before your very own eyes,
it is her eyes, they cry.

Bruised ventricles
Still frame in my eyes
Emotions leak down my face
My lips quiver in fear
You block my words
Forever silenced of the truth
Betrayal of lost promises
Stored in the back
Hoping to forget; I never will.
I'll never tell, I promise.
Contemplation of forgiveness
I can't, not for this.
No cut will satisfy.
I'm still healing
Bitter toward your kind
Trust again? it is uncertain.

confidently insecure
clearly confused
constantly sporadic
tensely relaxed
happily depressed
bitterly forgiving
tiredly energetic
meaninglessly fulfilling
lonely accompanied
hatedly loved
richly poor
intelligently stupid
exhaustedly rested
hungrily filled.
mixed emotions stir inside
unsure of which to feel
I just wish I could tell
which part of this is real.

dig the surface to the bone
crimson stains on the blade
liquid seeping from the seal
dripping to the floor below
in sync with the tears that fall
from the sky.
make the pain disappear
take it all away
numb all of her fears
she's a rotting corpse
all she feels are the tears.
it's becoming a cancer
taking her over.
she's slowly killing herself,
bleeding torrents of blood.
losing count of her scars
another tear falls down her face.
she's on her death bed
praying for forgiveness;
the tale of another
broken heart.

dizzy with emotion
lost in her demise
what happened to the sparkle
in her emerald eyes?
the devil's mark was the start
of her end
how much more of this
can she stand?
x's and o's
laced on her skin
no one knows
where she's been.
razors, drugs and drinks
are her friend
from the birth of her tears
to her end.
take a look into her lifeless eyes
and maybe you'll see the tears inside.
dig deep in the ground to get to her heart
it's buried beneath her many sorrows.
she's a night owl with her emotions
she hides in the day and at night she cries.
dizzy with emotion
perfecting her disguise
the sparkle in her emerald eyes
have finally died.
