Inhuman Facade

Figures swirling, talking, dancing - not there
Bright inhuman faces search for yours
A pause, a breath, then you’re mesmerised
Coming from nowhere they keep on appearing
Imagination swirls around you, enchanting
The branch of a tree now a slim hand
The hulking outline of a bush, a beautiful figure
Minds playing tricks as they alter your vision
Substances swirling, golden, under your skin
Creating enhanced images, stripping apart the mind
The unstoppable bliss spreading swiftly
Appearing in every sound, sight and feeling
The sensation builds quickly, then fades after passing time
Then it all starts to fade away, disappearing as it came
You clutch to the figures, cling desperately at every last shred
Then it’s gone, leaving nothing but memories
And an immense feeling of weight, tiredness and misery
