Forgiveness

The girl ran and kicked the ball
It swished in the goals net
But she sank in despair
Her knees in a pile of mud
And tears carved a path
Through her muddy brown hair
Plastered it stuck to her cheeks
The rain beating down on her like she was crud
She put her head in her hands
A silent sign that not all was going well
For instead of a soccer ball she saw her enemies’ head
And she made goal after goal after goal
Then that night she came home
Thoroughly soaked
A plan in mind and a blank look
It was a surprise then that she
Did not force the other girl to fall
But smiled like there was nothing wrong at all*
