Insisting

They can see she needs help, but she's insisting she doesn't,
She's on the verge of tears, but insisting she's fine.
She writes her thoughts in random jagged letters,
And as far as she's concerned, they're wasting their time.

They try to help her, to pry, make her open up,
She still insists she's okay.
She stares at her scars and wishes them away,
Wipes a tear and wishes the same.

There's too much on her mind, yet she's insisting she's fine,
She's forced herself to stay zipped and not say,
Forcing a smile, and faking a laugh,
Insisting for all it's worth,
That everything's ok.
