Night Angel

Eyes wide and staring at the face in the wall
Imaginary stranger rushes to break my fall
Every night I see him in the beam of moonlight
That slides in through blinds always shut tight
He sings me softly a sweet goodnight
Comforting words and tender lullabies
Never scolding for mistakes
Never causing the house to awake
Promising never to make me weep
He softly hushes me to sleep
He always follows in my dreams
Chasing away all their malicious themes
He promised to protect me forever and now
So long as I will still allow
He keeps me safe from monsters there
But when I awake he takes off in thin air
I'll kiss him goodbye he'll wish me good luck
Until the next bedtide hour has struck
In this routine we'll always remain
He'll always appear on this rigid time frame
It's better to love and to loose, am I right?
Especially when my angel returns every night.
