Your Touch Gives You Away

Her gentle touch
A mock in disguise,
I can see it,
Swelling in her eyes.

She condemns me,
For all my mistakes,
With that one little touch,
My heart breaks.

I recoil,
Fighting the urge to shout,
Her face pretends hurt,
And I slump in doubt.

I force my eyes ahead,
Ignoring her hateful stare,
But I feel them burning me -
She’s pretending to care.

My hands ball in a fist,
Wanting to be alone,
But she won’t leave me,
And both of us know.
