Two Hearts
A breath lingers in the air,
My heart beats.
She pauses, a second at most,
The anticipation makes it seem hours
Her fingers, soft and delicate,
Brush gently along my jaw,
My cheek, my lips
My breath catches.
I look deep into her blue eyes,
Run my fingers through her hair.
I’m in love.
My heart skips a beat.
She rises on tip toe,
My hands about her waist;
She seems so fragile in my arms.
I feel her heart beat.
She plants a kiss so sweet
On my tingling lips;
Holding her this close
I don’t want to let go.
Finally we break apart
Hearts racing
A breath lingers in the air.
My heart and hers beat in time;
Two hearts, forever entwined.
My heart beats.
She pauses, a second at most,
The anticipation makes it seem hours
Her fingers, soft and delicate,
Brush gently along my jaw,
My cheek, my lips
My breath catches.
I look deep into her blue eyes,
Run my fingers through her hair.
I’m in love.
My heart skips a beat.
She rises on tip toe,
My hands about her waist;
She seems so fragile in my arms.
I feel her heart beat.
She plants a kiss so sweet
On my tingling lips;
Holding her this close
I don’t want to let go.
Finally we break apart
Hearts racing
A breath lingers in the air.
My heart and hers beat in time;
Two hearts, forever entwined.
