Oh, Sweet Fear
Oh, sweet fear,
You consume me,
Seemingly swallowing me whole.
My vision is blurred;
Terrified to see what might be ahead of me.
My ears are filled with the pounding of my heart.
I can't grasp what's taking place.
Oh, sweet fear;
You consume me.
I fall into your sea of nothingness;
Your shadow of numbness;
Until no longer I am able to breathe.
I watch you slip from my fingertips.
No longer do you linger beside me.
Tears fall,
As do I.
So, you've won;
Oh, sweet fear.
You consume me,
Seemingly swallowing me whole.
My vision is blurred;
Terrified to see what might be ahead of me.
My ears are filled with the pounding of my heart.
I can't grasp what's taking place.
Oh, sweet fear;
You consume me.
I fall into your sea of nothingness;
Your shadow of numbness;
Until no longer I am able to breathe.
I watch you slip from my fingertips.
No longer do you linger beside me.
Tears fall,
As do I.
So, you've won;
Oh, sweet fear.
