Destroyed Eden

Your eyes are closed,
Your arms are wrapped,
Are you so warm?
Are you ok?

You hide yourself
In all of your jokes
All your stories
All your lies.

I wish you could be serious
Not the funny girl
As you appear to be.

You sit in your room,
Cushioned
Comfortable
Sweet serenity
An absolute Eden for a girl like you
The doors are closed
Your eyes are too
How I wish you could see the world
As all of us do

Yet you do see the world
For one brief and shining moment
You let your defenses wisp away and you open the door
“TO BRIGHT!” you’d scream and close the door
For no one to see
The next day you try again
This time you’ll be cautious, open it a crack,
Hide behind its hinges
And take a peek

What you see is horrifying,
Disrupt
Distraught
Hatred
Violence
Destruction
Not only do you scream
You close the door
Yet again
No peaks for me!

The end is near
Your world is doomed
By the apocalypse
Waiting
Knocking at your door
You’ve never had friends
That don’t come from pity
So you open the door once more
The last time
The second time
The wind blows in with a little crack,
Pushing the door fully open
Shredding your padded walls and floors.
You scream no
The wind screams yes
As it whips away all your safety
Comfort
Happiness
You watch this happen
Tears in your eyes
While you remember the causes to put you in this room

The wind slaps you in the face,
Breaking your trance
It still hasn’t left
Even after it’s finished
Destroying your world

After the destruction
Of your perfect Eden
You have to choices left
In our world
Either cry and be the weak girl you seem to be
Or suck it up and push forward in your life
You have that decision
You have that choice
You’re standing in the doorway
Were all waiting for you.
