Paint a Picture

Drips and drops of purple, orange and pink
Gathering at the tip, stretching downward
Layers upon layers of earth and ink
Forming a picture, a hard day’s reward

Greens and browns blending with dots of color
Shafts and specks of angelic misty light
Breaking through to the red and brown, duller
A scene of serenity, shining bright

Dark is the sky, dark as an inky well
Silver pinpricks contrasting beautifully
There for eternity, a shining bell
Winking as if conversing with much glee

For nature contains beauty, all of its own
Always to be acknowledged, even stone
