Our Dying Words(FAVORITE POEM!)

Please drop your roses now, my love
on that grave in this vacant cemetary dancefloor
With a hint of black mystique, the petals all dry up
as warm streams of red slide slowly down the stem

Feel my embrace with a chilling response;
my breath on your neck in the cold, misty air
My hands lace with yours, though all trace of life now gone
A shiver ascends up your back as you grasp my hand so tightly

A rush of warmth as beads of blood wrap around my fingers
You follow in my footsteps without hesitation,
but it seems I need not lead the way

Your heart seems to tremble with an awkward missing beat
as the extra thud becomes a faint lantern in a field of mist
showing the path only as much as is needed
through the eroded, dying undergrowth
The journey's end is almost here

You stop at a crossroads as your lip starts to quiver
Beads of water accumulate around your eyes,
falling gracefully to the ground
As my lips attempt to meet yours,

I hesitate

The look in your eyes makes this icy exterior so much cooler
As your heartbeat diminishes, our embrace seems so artificial
With every part of my soul illuminated with temporary life,
You are slowly introduced to my faint presence
growing stronger as we both feel the final beats of your grieving heart

And in unison our voices,
our minds, our hearts,
speak the three words that bond our souls together
And with one final beat of the drum,
our existance together comes to a new beginning
