Curtain Call
The curtain closed
The Dark surrounds me
A feeling overwhelms
Although my eyes betray me
I always feel you near
Outside the cage
A crowd applauds
We've reached the final scene
For now must flee
Must run away
My feet stay still as stone
From up behind
You now approach
Your breath now brushes my skin
A ghostly touch now caresses
Shivers wrack my frame
Within my hand
A gift is offered
Where once you were
You now a gone
A ghost of lovers passed
A velvet rose
My fingers envelope
It shines like the brightest star
A roar goes up
The rose placed down
Saved for another day
I move along
Feel your eyes
A haunting more terrifying then any other
So why does my heart
Beat so strong?
Is it simply the summers heat?
No time for that
The stage is set
Each body surrounds with anticipation
