Somewhere Past Forever

Living out days in the cul-de-sac
We we’re the best of friends
Those are the days I want back
Before our lives come to an end
Dancing together out in the rain
Never cared if we’d catch a cold
Pulling bouncy balls from the sewer drains
Never wanting to grow old

We could never be like Peter Pan
Our mothers told us so
Couldn’t fly to a far away land
Where there was nowhere we couldn’t go
We mapped out our time
We would take an adventure
Listened to Floridian wind chimes
And we did it together

I knew it could never last
Your family always moving around
I’d look next to me where your shadow was cast
And my tears fell to the ground
You no longer were standing here
You had gone away
You said you would always be near
But I just wanted you to stay
