Two Times a Day

A watch without a battery
is useless, right?
I still have to crane your head
awkwardly in foreign buildings
to find the clock on the wall,
and strangers still approach me
to ask for the time, only to be
annoyed by my habitual answer of
"I don't know."
And of course, there is the question
that invariably follows, when they demand
why I'm still wearing it, then.
But what they don't understand is:

twice a day, I'm right.
