Just a Teen.

She cries and she hurts,
Puts on a fake smile.
'Things can't be that bad,
For she's just a child.'
You feed her lies,
And wonder what you did.
'Things are so simple,
For she's just a kid.'
Her world falls apart,
Slowly, piece by piece.
'She should be happy,
For she's just a teen.'
A parent who doesn't see,
Their daughter's sadness and rage.
'Things will get better,
She's just at that age.'
But then time unfreezes,
And comes to a halt.
No more excuses for sadness,
For she's an adult.
