Lingering Demons
Something lingering haunts my every thought,
It stalks me as if it is my shadow,
Following my every movement, even to the fields were I have fought,
Every memory it consumes, drags me even further down below,
I find myself surrounded by demons,
A dark and gloomy feeling is approaching,
As they try and take me with their legions,
They enter my mind, illegally encroaching,
Trapped for eternity in the devil’s grasp,
A man is forever condemned in a mask,
As I lay stricken suffering the gasp,
I realize I have accomplished my task,
So it is here that I shall meet my end,
If this is what he, the one god, intend.
It stalks me as if it is my shadow,
Following my every movement, even to the fields were I have fought,
Every memory it consumes, drags me even further down below,
I find myself surrounded by demons,
A dark and gloomy feeling is approaching,
As they try and take me with their legions,
They enter my mind, illegally encroaching,
Trapped for eternity in the devil’s grasp,
A man is forever condemned in a mask,
As I lay stricken suffering the gasp,
I realize I have accomplished my task,
So it is here that I shall meet my end,
If this is what he, the one god, intend.
