When We Sang and Threw Our Arms Into the Air

I live for those nights.
The ones spent standing under bright lights.

Waiting in a large crowd of kids waiting the the show to start.
As the band races on stage and I can feel the beat of the drum in my heart.
The whole place begins to scream as they strum the first few cords.
The lyrics we all sing along can't be ignored.

As I sing my heart out,
I can look forward to the rest of this night without a doubt.
Because this certain feeling I get cannot be explained.
My smiles, my screams cannot be contained.

My throat grows dry,
And no one can help but wonder why.

Why do we put ourselves through all of this?
Standing in a large sweaty abyss
Of dehydrated kids all here for the same reason.
Standing in line for hours no matter what the season.

I live for these nights and these nights only.
These nights, I never feel lonely.
Standing below one of your favorite bands,
As the crowd cheers them on with a big hand,

Nights like these will stick with me forever,
Whenever, wherever.

Because I live for these nights.
The ones spent staring at blinding lights.
