Why?

Why is the sky blue?
Why is the grass green?
Why can't I be true?
What does this all mean?

Why are there blacks/asians/whites/mexicans?
Why is there war?
Why can't he/she be called mine?
Why are you bi?

Startled by all the questions she slowly smiles
The little girl tilts her head
"Because I was born that way..."
She pats the girls head and sends her to bed

The girl thinks all night long
As winter, summer, fall and spring pass by
She becomes a beautiful rose
Still thinking she sings a song

Why are there rainbows?
Why are is there racism?
Discrimination?
She looks at the world with confused eyes

"I'm bi!" she claims and smiles at the boy she likes
He makes a face and another pretends to gag
What did she do wrong?
"Gross you're a fag!" another girl scoots away

Her "best friends" don't stay
She watches the world with unforgiving eyes
Life is punishment for them
The fallen angels who've questioned god

Trying to redeem themselves...
Babies bathed in blood
A kid beaten or raped
A girl covered with tape

Unforgiving the world became
So many fallen...
But none can claim...
That when they can change anytime they turned the chance down...

She nods at her own explanation and walks home
Thrown into the wall
The boy stays silently waiting
As the others grow tall

He's not gay
In fact he believes in god so much...
He hasn't hurt anyone at all
So why is he being "punished"?

She grabs the steel
The voice pushing her on, the sweet voice
He tells her how when she ends this she'll be granted a new life...
She loves this choice...

He's her friend...the precious steel...
The only thing thats always there no matter what...
He lets her actually feel.
Who can blame? The world turned to shit...

He comes home to a worried mom
She treats his bruises and cuts
Seeing her slows the ticking bomb
He walks into his room and cries silently as she yells at the dad

He hasn't fallen...not yet...
He looks to the star filled sky
The moon looks down on him with pity
He bows his head and whispers why?

Why him?
Why her?
Why me?
Why you?

War is another crime we have...

The world silently regrets the shit it's gone too
The girl smiles at the voice
The world begs her not too
But she was only given this "choice".

He rushes in the room just as it comes
The blood falls just like her tears
Staring at her wrist she silently cries
They both look to the sky

"Put it down..." He whispers
She looks at him a little scared
"Listen to my voice"
He looks at her and thankfully gives her another choice

He holds her through the night
Each feeling better knowing they're not the only fallen ones
Chest tight...
They take the blade...

And throw it out to sea...
