21st Century Kids

I love you, who don't love me
Why can't you see, what i can see?
The pain you cause, I drown it out
I have the scars, to clear the doubt

We're feeling low, so we get high
We think of things, that we could try
Remove the pain, when there's too much
With illegal substances and stuff we shouldn't touch

We're depressed
We try to shy
we are upset
we start to cry
When we smile
we're telling a lie
We can only do, what we're able to
And hope that gets us by

Too much too young
Why are we not out there having fun?
We're stressed, we cry
Pretending to be happy, our lives are just white lies
Depression, obsession

Blame it on your children, you always do
We are confused, what can we do?
You've got it wrong, it all leads back to you
You're the ones that taught us what we should and shouldn't do

Whatever happened to the childhood we're deprived?
Cannot you realise the shortness of dear life?
Born into a society where kids grow up too quick
Doing thing that people do on cheap, pathetic flicks

Too much too young
Why are we not out there having fun?
We're stressed, we cry
Pretending to be happy, our lives are just white lies
Depression, obsession

Too much too young
