Unspoken Words

To block the writer’s mind
Is a powerful thing;
For the things I’d write
Would be far too cliché.

But I’ll express my feelings
In the simplest way…

My memory ceases to work
When all thoughts have turned to you,
And my attention is too far out
To reel it back to reality.

When a night goes by
That I’ve not wished you goodnight,
My mind tosses and turns
In unison with my restless body.

Every moment we share,
The place, I don’t care;
The only thing that counts,
Is if you are there.

But I’ll tell you the truth,
That I beat myself up
For the fear of what I fail to do,
Will only cause me to lose you.
