The Cynic

(This is the first and currently only short poem of a series I'm going to do on the many faces of man.. and basically..yes, they will all focus on the bad aspects of each of them...though..I do believe each one has its positive aspects..such as..cynicism towards society deters you from conformity and overall stupidity..but...yes...too much said. Comment, por favor.)

The witty misanthropist drowns others in his sneer towards civilization
A coarse veneer, decorated by his unmatched passion
Towards all he can meet with zeal; all that sets itself pedestal
Against pedestal with the cynic’s
Award-worthy intellect, but he raves, and he hides
The cynic’s self-worth demoted to unworthy
Of acceptance
