Get Awkward - Be Your Own Pet

There's more than just alternative, country, and Paramore that comes out of the music industry in Tennessee. One little band, Be Your Own Pet, is just one of those 'others' that hail from the capitol of the Elvis-obsessed state. Once you hear them, you'll never want to go back to your little Kenny Chesny shrine, ever again.

Get Awkard isn't your average album, by your average band. Oh no; it's much, much more. Super Soaked is the first track off the album, and it spirals you into a world you've never ventured into before. With Jemina's vocals that are unheard of, you'll want to get up and dance, to just about every track.

The next track, The Kelly Affair, is the first single off the album. As I was with Ludo's Love Me Dead, I watched the video on Steven's Untitled Rock Show and wanted to listen to the song over and over again. The Kelly Affair is one awesome song, if you ask me!

After that, Twisted Nerve, Heart Throb, Bitches Leave, and Bummer Time are all very short, very fast, and very powerful songs that make you really want to get off the couch and dance like an idiot. And Bummer time might just be the most fun song on the album!

You're A Wast is high energy fun, along with Food Fight! (which really reminds me of a food fight!), Zombie Graveyard Party, What's your Damage?, Creepy Crawl, and The Best Within, which closes the album in a very Be-Your-Own-Pet kind of way!

Be Your Own Pet's Get Awkward isn't for everyone. But I can tell you that, if you like bands like Flyleaf, Areosmith, and My Chemical Romace, you'll probably enjoy Get Awkard just as much as I do!
