Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival

Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival Good Charlotte emerged to us after a seemingly continued slump with a brand new album.

The pop punk five man party (four after the departure of drummer Chris Wilson due to health issues) reinvented themselves once more with a completely different album than their previous The Chronicles Of Life And Death.

Despite what lead singer Joel Madden said that it going to be like their old material, the new 13 track piece of music (with one hidden track as usual) contains an unhidden element of dance, 80's and techno.

Joel's lyrics also had changed along with the music moving away from the dark concept of the previous 'Chronicles' life and death theme, allowing a more poppy sound but still with the same Good Charlotte beats and rhymes.

The lead track off the album 'The River' featuring M. Shadows and Synister Gates from fellow band 'A7x' (Avenged Sevenfold), has combined the vocals of two great singers and the touching lyrics of GC's prominent frontman Joel and Lead guitarist/Back up vocalist Benji creating a most compatible melody.

As I walk through the valley of the shadows of LA,
You're gonna grow up fast, underneath these lights...

The River's insightful words hold a message, a meaning that made people who despise Good Charlotte fall in love with it. That's what proves that these boys have made it with the creation of such song, which proves that they've got talent capable of earning fans of all ages and ranges.

Another two songs of 'Good Morning Revival' has caught my attention with their blatant dance beats and catchy tunes: Dance Floor Anthem along with Keep Your Hands Off My Girl.

This is a bold move for the group that gained so much attention being on MTV, acquiring fans over the famous music channel's screen at home or on TRL.

Some may be disappointed by this radical make over regarding the material but I say they had made another good record worth the money wasted on it.

The only downsides are that some of Good Morning Revival's songs besides the ones I mentioned can pass you by as boring or unmemorable as they are very much similar to the former songs mentioned. Except All Black , where interesting lyrics are found with a beautiful concept concerning a girl who is just different and contain a dose of interesting metaphors with a fitting intro.

At the end, the band hated by many and loved by and increasing mound of teenagers prove that they can write and create songs.

Give the album a listen if you're fan. And if you think it's disappointing listen to it again as there is more than meets the eye. Or hey! Even if you're not a fan and you like dance or techno and synthesizers, try bearing with a couple of songs. You'll be impressed.
