Escape The Fate: This War is Ours

Escape The Fate: This War is Ours We all know this band has gone through one hell of a year in the beginning of 2008. Escape The Fate is a band from Las Vegas, Nevada who had recently let go of ex-singer Ronnie Radke in late 07 and brought on new singer Craig Mabbitt from Blessthefall.

As we all know, Radke was furious when finding his [ex] best friends had decided to release him from the band due to drug abuse, lies, and probation. After breaking probation, Radke was sentenced to jail to do some time. From there, Ronnie had posted various blogs insulting new singer Craig Mabbitt, Max Green and others as well.

"You won't do without me, I AM Escape The Fate." stated Radke in one of his many outrageous self-righteous posts.

As expected, Radke was proven wrong when Escape The Fate released their sophomore album This War Is Ours on October 21, 2008 with a new style, sound, quality and singer.

1. We Wont Back Down : This track stars off intensely with aggressive upbeat fast lyrics. When listening, you could get off an angry/tensional vibe from the band, making it clear that nothing or no one can stop them from who they are and what they do.

2. On To The Next One: This track comes off as song that you can just play to someone without needing to say "F*ck you!", The beat and guitars of this song could make you dance if you wanted to. The lyrics of this song are true to anyone who has dealt with change and getting rid of someone and moving on.

3. Ashley: This track is one of those songs you can't ever get out of your head, in a good way of course. The lyrics Ashley baby! You make me feel so alive!" are pretty catchy. To me, this song is about having that someone who is there and can keep you going, no matter how much you want to stop. I wonder if Max fits in this category for me. Maxwell baby! You make me feel so alive! I got purpose once again. Okay, maybe not, we should just stick to Ashley.

4. Something: Woah, this song is a really deep one, it is one that you can really relate to, whether you've hurt someone or have been hurt, it's like the guys wrote this one exactly for you and no one else because they know the feeling. This song relates to meaning something to someone and then suddenly things fall apart. QUIT THINKING OF YOUR EX!

5. The Flood: Oh snap! Can you say this song can be a HUGE "F**k you!" to mister Radke? Maybe, maybe not. To me it seems as it is but isn't said or confirmed so unfortunately for us, we will never know. This song is just one of those that you can just sit at your computer and play all day, thinking of the person you hate with a passion, or maybe just the person you hate.

6. Let It Go: I'm not quite sure how to really relate to this song too much but I think personally for that this one is just about being with someone, who wants to be with someone else. You choose the let it go, but debate hat happens if you do and what happens as you think of it.

7. You Are So Beautiful: Do not have your computer/ipod/stereo on full blast with the song! Trust me, the beginning scares your pants off every time! Well, doesn't this song makes a girl feel special in a twisted way. The fast and up tight beats can really keep you awake! I think more so guys would relate to this because this song is pretty much having been wrapped around in a girls finger and basically telling them to leave you alone now.

8. This War Is Ours (The Guillotine 2): Holy mother of Johnny Christ! I've been waiting for this one, this song is basically one that makes you go "Holy mother of lord". This song is seductive, with Craig's amazing voice, Max's energetic hyper growls and Bryan's little solo, it's amazing! The breakdown of this song is so perfect, and then the chorus of Max, Bryan, and Craig's voices, it is utterly mind blowing. Totally worth three bucks a ring tone for... or in T mobile's case $2.49. This song is basically a continuation of "The Guillotine" off of their first album Dying Is Your Latest Fashion and is equally erratic and insane. This one may have more growls and screams and big words to look up but they are both worth the listen. Just pull up your iTunes and play part one and then part two and have a good listen for yourself.

9. 1O Miles Wide: Needless to say, this song is awesome! We basically have not only Craig, Max and Bryan's voices but we have Josh Todd, Julian Feldmann, John Feldmann, Kyle Moorman, Matt Appleton AND Benji Madden of Good Charlotte joining them on the additional gang vocals of this track.

10. Harder Than You Know: This song is basically my favorite. The soft strums of Bryan's guitar and Max's bass make i a really depressing tune. Craig pulls off an absolute adorable sad voice that makes you weep. This track is about loving someone so much, but knowing that they don't feel as much for you any more and wanting to let go but can't. It's safe to say anyone who has been heartbroken who listens to song will immediately think of their one true love or ex lover, it's okay. Go ahead and cry, just be sure not to blow to hard in your buddies white snot rag.

11. It's Just Me: Can you say creepy circus vibe? The moment I heard this song, the first thing that popped in my head was Wtf? I immediately brushed it off and listened to this song, then the second thing that popped in my head was "Stalker!" needless to say, this song freaks me out... very surprising .

You'd be amazed with what comes out of this new album, This War Is Ours is definitely one of my top ten albums of 2008.
